Summer LEAP Program

Fun + Science of Learning = Huge Learning Gains in One Summer

At the LEAP program, each student's lesson is specially designed and taught with their unique learning needs in mind. These programs are an excellent fit for students who are a little behind, who want to get ahead, or who may be diagnosed with a specific learning difference/disability like dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia.

Our LEAP program is a concentrated tutoring program designed to help students make lots of progress over the summer months. We meet one-on-one, daily, with students for 2 - 4 hours. Our method is research-based and validated, designed to help students confidently jump into their next year and prepare for new academic challenges. Each student's schedule and curriculum are individualized and based on their areas of strength and growth.

Our program occurs indoors and outside at the Friends School of Portland in Cumberland Foreside, ME. This wonderfully designed school allows lots of room for all learning styles: kinesthetic, tactile, visual, auditory, room to move, and/or space for quiet study.

To speak with our staff about whether this program would be a good fit, please call 207-426-4267.

"My 15-year-old daughter was diagnosed with Dyslexia at age 8.  She has received special education through the public school system to address her reading difficulties since that time.  Despite school intervention, her reading fluency and decoding stalled at the 6th grade level.

With intensive, individual tutoring by Pine State Learning and the Lindamood Bell Reading curriculum, her grade equivalent jumped 2 in 4 months.  My high schooler cried joyfully after independently reading the very first novel of her life during her sophomore year.

She no longer requires my assistance to complete non-fiction-based reading homework.  Pine State Learning is solely responsible for my daughter's significant reading advancement, which has given her a big boost to her self-esteem. For that, I am so grateful."
